Counselling Psychologist
Responsibilities
- Provide counselling services to hospital staff, patients, and other clients within the hospital and its satellite dispensaries.
- Develop and adhere to a counselling timetable, ensuring regular follow-up with clients/patients for on-going support and progress monitoring.
- Maintain strict adherence to professional ethics and standards when delivering counselling services.
- Collaborate closely with fellow counsellors and healthcare professionals, fostering a team-oriented approach to patient care.
- Educate and raise awareness within the hospital community about counselling services, promoting their accessibility and benefits.
- Conduct on-the-job training in counselling for trainees and other professionals to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Ensure accurate and confidential maintenance of client records, adhering to hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource on counselling practices for the hospital and affiliated teaching institutions.
- Proactively engage in personal development activities to stay updated on current counselling methodologies.
- Participate actively in peer supervision and clinical supervision sessions to enhance counselling effectiveness.
- Undertake additional counselling-related tasks assigned by hospital management to support patient care and organizational needs.
- Document and submit comprehensive monthly reports on counselling activities to supervisors.
- Prioritize personal therapy and engage in self-care activities to maintain emotional well-being and professional effectiveness.
- Perform any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in psychological counselling, social work, community health Development or any relevant in a Recognized institution
