Responsibilities

  • Role Purpose: The jobholder is responsible for reviewing and managing both outpatient and inpatient cases through diagnosing and treating injuries and diseases using medical imaging (radiology) procedures and thus ensure high-quality care in line wit
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough consultations in both inpatient and outpatient settings, performing image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Carry out clinical evaluations involving comprehensive history-taking where required.
  • Formulate patient management plans, providing guidance on conservative, medical, and surgical treatment options.
  • Provide clinically appropriate assessment, interpretation, and reporting on imaging adhering to standard guidelines.
  • Provide timely reporting of images to facilitate efficient patient flows.
  • Provide consultation services during working hours and call hours.
  • Engage in multidisciplinary team discussions.
  • Advise the hospital on Radiological and Imaging Diagnosis from time to time.
  • Conduct medical education and research activities in clinical area of work
  •   Participate in the development of procedures for the department
  • Represent the department in management committees
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive patient management plans.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to facilitate radiology services provision, including donors and radiological societies.
  • Assume leadership roles within the radiology department and hospital to contribute to service provision and institutional vision.
  • Educate patients on their conditions, treatment options, and management strategies.
  • Day-to-day operations and supervision of staff in the assigned work area fostering a cohesive and unified organizational culture.
  • Facilitate implementation of the internal audit, risk management, QMS and other related work plans.
  • Perform any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements

  • Master of Medicine in Radiology or equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council;
  • Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB.) degree or its equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council;
  • Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council - KMPDC).
  • Valid practicing license from Kenya Medical Practitioners
